A BWCA Adventure

The Stones

His great uncle told the story of two stones created to provide protection for an ancient clan, but Gib Larkin sees more than just a distraction of fantasy. Buried somewhere in the words of Gerald Kearny's book, Gib believes the clues are there. The stones yet wait to be recovered.

Deep in the heart of Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area, a pristine forest untouched by the hand of civilization, Gib hopes to unlock the mysteries of his uncle's writings.

To help him, Gib has brought together Addison Gethold and Josh Bertram, both with their own agendas and both also sharing Gerald Kearny's lineage. Addison, their guide, knows the forest well and puts little stock in the legend while Josh awaits an adventure that might just be bigger than he is ready for.

Through the many waterways and portages that take them on their way, the three travelers embark on a journey that involves more than just treasure hunting. The seclusion of the deep forest, the absence of distraction, allows each of them time for self-discovery.

Hidden in the wild and untamed forest, the clues wait to be revealed, but Gib and his friends are not the only ones searching.

The wealthy entrepenuer, Temple Marston, has his own passion for the stones; their legend promises wealth and fame. With his advisor, Harris, and his hardened henchmen, Temple will do whatever is necessary to have the stones for himself.

The closer Gib, Addison and Josh get to unraveling the secrets of their uncle, the closer Temple gets to them.  Trapped in the forest with no one to help them, Gib hopes to solve the mystery of his uncle in time to save them all.
